Berlin Township is a civil township of St. Clair County in the U.S. state of Michigan. At the 2000 census, the township population was 3,162. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 37.1 square miles (96.2 kmē), all land. At the 2000 census, there were 3,162 people, 1,050 households and 872 families residing in the township. The population density was 85.2 per square mile (32.9/kmē). There were 1,076 housing units at an average density of 29.0/sq mi (11.2/kmē). The racial makeup of the township was 97.19% White, 0.89% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.57% from other races, and 0.92% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.81% of the population. There were 1,050 households of which 41.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.8% were married couples living together, 6.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.9% were non-families....
